Echo Hill Trail (Hunterdon County)

Trail Map

Echo Hill Environmental Education area, home to the South Branch Watershed Association, is accessed off of State Highway 31. Consider taking advantage of highway’s amenities before beginning the trail. Once there you will enjoy Echo Hill’s trails and views of Prescott Brook and the pond. A very short distance away Stanton Station provides trails that run along the South Branch River to mix it up a bit you will then enjoy the fields at the next stop, Lone Cedar Park, and then the trails of Bernadette Morales Nature Preserve. After that we will head south for Clover Hill Park, the Sourland Preserve and Northern Stony Brook Greenway along with Amwell Lake WMA. We’ve attempted to bypass the busy roads running through Flemington, but we found it necessary to use State Highway 31 and U.S. 202 north, so on your way to these sites you will have another opportunity to gas up, pick up something to eat, or even stop at some of the outlet malls for which Flemington is known. Our last few sites mix up the wildlife viewing, Assiscong Marsh has its wetland habitat; Deerpath Park its mix of recreational and wildlife viewing opportunities and the last stop is Hunterdon Aboretum, where depending on the time of the year, you’ll have blooming gardens to stroll through and always trails to walk.
