Pequest Hatchery area

We visited Pequest Hatchery just a few days ago with our Water Resources class from Ramapo College. The Pequest River is cool and clear. Most of us wished we had more time to hike there. We saw Redtails, an Osprey, and Goldfinch, and the promise of this rich area invites us.

Re: Pequest Hatchery area

Yes it is great to hike there.   I live within walking distance of the Hatchery.  There are a lot more birds there like bluebirds, swallows, black vultures, and turkey vultures, plus others like great blue herons.  I like it best in the late fall
